Holiday Wishes
Behold! It's the Family Christmas Card! Yup, Mom has worked her Photoshop magic and created another dandy of a greeting that is being sent in all of our Christmas cards. That's the beautiful Miss Binks on the left and that handsome bunn snorgling next to her is me ;) Then we have wee Louise right in the middle, followed by Ana Banana and Scooter MaGoo on the right.
Mom is one of those people who loves Christmas so much, she put the tree up in November. Like, the second weekend of November. And she was late this year. She had gone out to the garage to pull out the Christmas tree and discovered that some mice had been living in it. All of the pine cones were chewed down to nubs and there were peanut skins, seeds and tiny poops all through the branches. She shook her fist, "You darned mice! You have ruined my beautiful tree!" So that postponed the putting up of the tree until she got a new one.
Christmas lights in the window, festive garland on the fireplace mantle, boughs and bows outside with more lights - it's all done. And there is the festive addition of a leg lamp in our living room window. One of Mom's favourite movies is "A Christmas Story" and she has always dreamed of having her very own leg lamp to display in the window every Christmas. This year, her dream came true, thanks to kijiji. If you have never seen "A Christmas Story" then this leg lamp will just confuse you. Go watch the movie and get back to me....
I hope Santa Paws remembers what a good little bunny I have been this year. Apart from a few poo-flinging incidents, none of which I was ever convicted of, I've been an angel of a rabbit. And it's not like I want a lot of things for Christmas. Us bunnies, we have it pretty good and there is not much that we don't already have, but there is always room in my belly for more treats. Oh yeah, more treats!
I don't care what kind they are. Carrot Slims, Veggie Puffs, raisins, hay cupcakes, I'll take it! Miss Binks' favourite treat is dried persimmon. Hopefully Mom remembered to order those from the Bunspace Store. And oat groats. I hope there are oat groats in my stocking!
Other that dreaming of what I want Santa Paws to bring me, I wanted to extend the best of Christmas and Holiday wishes to all of my peeps out there. Recent tragic events in Connecticut have made even the most cheerful of bunnies very sad, and it is a reminder that life is precious. Love everyone around you, spread cheer and give hope, and live every day to it's fullest. You only get to live your life once, so make sure to pack it full of love, happiness and optimism. I will share with you Mom's favourite quote, one that she tries to live by every single day....
I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again. ~ Stephen Grellet
Smooches and snorgles to you all, and to all, a good night.

First Place Winner!
Here she is, the First Place Winner in Bunspace's "Giving you the Eye" photo contest! Miss Binky Binkowsky!
That's right, my beautiful Miss Binks entered this picture and it won her top spot. Isn't she pretty?
"Thank you Fluffy....:) I figured I would enter because I only have one eye I can give."
"Were you excited when you found out you had won?"
"Oh, absolutely! There were many great pictures of bunnies giving the eye. I think perhaps the Tiffany scarf I'm wearing is what gave me the advantage. That, and the fact that I am actually smiling in this picture, tee hee!"
"Is there anything you would like to say to your Bunspace Peeps?"
"Why yes! I would like to thank everyone for voting for me! Everyone pretty much knows how much of a Diva I am, but it's always nice to get reassurance once in a while ;) I feel very special to have won first place."
"Awwww, Binks my girl, you are always first place with me!"
"Fluffy! Don't make me blush!"
And we would also like to thank my peep Babette the Rabette and her mom Tamara for sponsoring the contest and donating bunny t-shirts for first, second and third place! Check out Babbette's blog here and if you have a bunny who has special needs, check out Tamara's website www.specialbunny.org!

The Kissing Bandit
I've been called worse. But every once in a while I like to remind Mom of how soft and warm my kisses are :)
She smelled really good that day. A mixture of hay, banana and raisins. And perhaps I was feeling kinda smoochy myself, having just filled my belly with choice selections from the Evening Salad. I had assumed the "loaf position" when Mom decided to lay on the floor with me for some one-on-bun time.
"Who's my Little Man? Oh, I'm sorry, I mean my Big Tough Lop? It's Fluffy! Yes it is, Mr. McFluffersons..........*gasp*.....kisses! Mama LOVES kisses! Thank you my Little Man! Mama wuv you sooooooo much!"
I love when she pets me, but only when I get to keep all four paws on the floor. Then she can rub my head all she wants. I especially like it when she comes really close and nuzzles my neck. She makes these "nom nom nom" sounds and it gets all warm with her breath. Then she will sniff me and snorgle my ears - I REALLY like that! And then if she stops too soon, I might give her a little nip to remind her she is not done - hee hee!
So Peeps, it's always a good idea to remind your 2-foot how adorable and loving you really are. Have you snorgled your human today?

Say Cheese
We're a pretty photogenic bunch, us bunnies, especially me. Now I don't mean to toot my own horn, but seriously, I'm a pretty good lookin' Big Tough Lop wouldn't you say?
Mom and Dad recently went away and we all stayed at our friend Jessica's house. Jessica loves us bunnies as if we were her own - and she has 5 of her own :). Jessica is also a great photographer and while we were there, Mom arranged for us to have our pictures taken. Again.
Here are Scooter MaGoo and Ana Banana. Scooter is always weary of the camera, as his eyesight is fading with his old age and it makes him nervous, but he takes such great pictures! He's a nervous guy in general but he can also be really sucky when he wants to. And he is also impossible to turn away for treats. Ana is wearing a Coach scarf in her picture, but unlike Binky, there is no hint of a smile here! Perhaps it's the Rex face that always looks so disapproving, but she is definitely not impressed with her own adorableness.
And even Louise Hamster go in on the photoshoot! I know, how many of you have ever seen a hamster glamour shot? Well, here you go! Louise is so full of personality and humour. She is a very friendly girl and has no problem with being handled, carried around and having raspberries blown onto her belly. Yes, Mom and dad do that.....
And of course, this post would not be complete without a completely self-indulgent inclusion of myself. After all, I am the most handsome Big Tough Lop of them all. So to all my peeps out there.....

Bye Bye Summer
This weekend was especially nice. Nice and warm without the uncomfortableness of humidity and with a light breeze that kept the changing leaves waving from their branches. "Bunnies! It's a perfect day to be outside! Who wants to play?"
Mom set up the xpen in the yard and plopped us down inside. It always takes us a bit of time to get used to being out there. All new smells and sounds can really overwhelm a bunny who is used to being indoors. Miss Binks especially loves to be outside. Her ears perk up and forward, and her little twitchy nose rises and falls from the open sky to the sweet grass below. Me? I like to chin the grass. Every blade! Every blade is mine and by chinning it, it means I will come back later to munch on it. Binky doesn't wait, she rips that grass and chews it right up, happy to finally feel like a real wild bunny.
I enjoyed it outside, exploring the land with my sweet Binks. We are in our golden years now, and it's so nice to have sweet days like this to spend together. Hopefully the fall will continue to be nice and we can get out again before the cold moves in and the snow begins to fall. Beautiful days like this one are not to be missed, but enjoyed to the fullest, with your love by your side.

Bring On The Basil
When it comes to herbs, there is one that really does reign supreme in our house. Parsley is yummy, especially the flat Italian kind as opposed to the curly stuff. Dill is another fave, so light and fluffy and fragrant. We wouldn't know a thing about cilantro as Mom says the stuff is vile and she can't stand the smell of it, especially on her fingers. She is even a card-carrying member of www.ihatecilantro.com. Mint of course, is delightful and helps to digest all the other yummies we get. But deep down, the King of all herbs is......BASIL!
Oh I looooooooove basil! And so does Miss Binks! There is just something about the texture of those smooth yet sturdy leaves, the scent, fresh and enticing! Chewing it up just releases all kinds of happiness in my mouth! I love basil!
And check out what Mom bought! A huge basil plant, all ripe and ready for nomming! She put that thing down and I just dove in! Binky was too shy and lady-like to even consider ripping the leaves off the plant like I did, but I'm a Big Tough Lop so I had no issues at all with doing it!
Thanks Mom, for being so awesome! Make sure you buy more next time you are at the grocery store!

Hoppy Poop Day!
"Mom! Mom! Come look! Come see what we made for you!"
"What on Earth....*gasp!*.......is that....is that a heart....made of bunny poops?!"
"Yup! Sure is! Hoppy Birthday, Mom!"
"Oh Fluffy, oh Binky, thank you so much!"
"It took us a while to poop them all exactly the same like that. And then Miss Binks helped arrange them into a perfect heart because my attempts just looked a mess...."
"Oh my little Darlings! Mommy loves you both so very, very much! I am going to take a picture and show everyone how creative, thoughtful and sweet my Babies are!"
Mom loves it when we do stuff like this. I mean really, who else could possibly get excited over a heart made of poo? If this came from Dad, well, that would be another story.
On Mom's birthday, us bunnies do bend the rules a little. She is allowed to pick us up and snorgle us for as long as she wants, so long as we each get one treat for every 5 minute interval. She can smooch us right on the lips - this is usually forbidden for it annoys our whiskers and is just downright embarrassing. And lastly, once the day is over, at the exact stroke of midnight, the nonsense must stop. She needs to practise that one a bit.
But she's Mom, and we love her! Secretly, we really don't mind all the lovin' but you must never let Mom know - she is very likely to take full advantage of information like that. Us bunns are really quite lucky to have a Mom like her to dote on us, as well as a Dad who adores us just as much.
So on behalf of Miss Binks and myself, Mom, we love you and wish you a very Hoppy Birthday and many more to come <3>

Gettin' All Snuggy!
Hey Mom, look at the date of my last post.....
"Um, yeah....?"
And what's the date today?
"Okay, I know it's been a while, but I've been busy!"
Not good enough!
Well, clearly I have some catching up to do. It's true, Mom has been busy with BunFest 2012 plans and other things in life and I've been busy too, napping, snorgling, eating and pooping :)
I don't know what kind of summer all of my peeps are having, but here where I am, it's been scorching hot! Like a "no bunny outside!" hot! This heat wave has shrivelled up many of the plants in the garden and turned the grass in the backyard a not-so-nice crunchy yellow. Mom reminds us everyday of how lucky we are to have air conditioning and I have to agree.
Our house has three floors and for the top floor - where Scooter and Ana live - to get comfortably cool, the air conditioner has to work extra hard. What that means is, downstairs where we are, it's pretty freakin' cold! Mom usually tapes up the vents down here otherwise the air conditioning fogs up the patio doors like an ice cream cooler in a grocery store, but even with that extreme taken, it's still very cool. But it's totally okay for Miss Binks and I. We are furry animals and we really prefer being cool to being even the slightest over-hot. It's perfect napping weather and it also allows me to stretch out in a ray of sun and not overheat and have to get up and move.
But of course, this crazy heat also makes Mom do crazy things.
The other day, Mom came home with a gift for Binky. It was a Snuggy. Yup, you heard me....a SNUGGY! Seriously Mom?! "But I thought she might be a little chilly, so I thought I'd get her something to warm her up just a bit....." It's 37 degrees Celsius outside Mom! Plus there's a humidex! "I know, but it's very cool in here....but I don't want my Binks to catch a cold....." she said as she scooped up poor Miss Binks and started dressing her up in it.
I don't know what it is with Binky, but she has always kinda liked being dressed up. From her sweaters and hats, to her scarves and her Halloween costumes, it's like she knows she's getting all prettied up. She knows how to wear an outfit, and how to work a room. "Look how pretty I am Fluffy! Don't you wish you had a Snuggy?" Uh, nope. You can just have that one all to yourself......
Stay cool Peeps, but not so cool that your Mom thinks it's necessary to dress you up in velcroed fleece....

Poop - The Return
What is that? That thing there, above the litterbox? No, on the wall right there, see it? Is it a scratch? Nope, it's not a scratch on the wall. And it's not a crack either. So what is it you ask? It's a strand of hay. It's a strand of hay stuck to the wall by........a poop!
Yup, there it is in all it's glory, just waiting for Mom to see it. And here she comes to check on the laundry. She glances into the room. And locks her eyes right on it.
"What is THIS?!" she screeched. Binky ran under the coffee table. "Is.....is this.......POO?! On the wall...AGAIN?!"
Wasn't me Mom, honestly.
"Didn't we go through this once before? Didn't we already have a talk about flinging poops around the house?"
We did, however there was not enough substantial evidence to prove who the culprit was. It's been a cold case for quite a while now. Looks like they struck again.
She took the broom and swept it off the wall back into the litterbin, all the while talking through her teeth. "All I want is to NOT have POOP on the walls! Is that too much to ask?!" she huffed as she lifted the clothes from the washer and put them into the dryer. "You guys have a litterbin. It's not like you don't have a litterbin, for crying out loud. People come over..." In goes the last sock. "...they look at my walls..." In goes the dryer sheet. "...and all they see is...." Shut the dryer door. "..................wha......WHAT?!!!!!!!!! Another one?!!!!! STUCK to the DOOR of the DRYER?!"

Oh boy. I ran under the coffee table with Miss Binks. I snuggled down right beside her as Mom continued on her tirade, now seemingly talking to no one in particular. "Now I might as well be called the Bunny POOP Lady....."
"What is all the ruckus about Fluffy?" Binky asked. "Oh, you know. There's poop on the wall and for some reason Mom doesn't like it there."
"But why? We worked so hard on it. You reached way up and stuck it there, then I added the pretty piece of hay......it was quite a lovely work of art."
"I know. I guess she just doesn't appreciate creativity and originality when she sees it. Oh....and by the way, that project we started on the dryer? I think we will have to abandon that one too..."

Thumps for Mom
Hey Peeps, it's me! Good news, I'm feeling much better! Sorry this update hasn't happened sooner, Mom got sick with food poisoning and moved into the bathroom for a few days.....
Turns out that wee little spur in the back of my mouth was bugging me more than we thought. I'm eating like a little piggy and back on track. As proof, please see the video above of me reminding my Stupid Blankets of who is in charge around here. I'm back baby, I'M BACK!
Mom is still giving me Critical Care but I'm not that interested in it anymore - I'd much rather eat my hay and pellets again. She still wants me to have a wee little bit in the mornings and evenings and tonight, she got a little sloppy. "Whoops! Sorry Fluffs, I just dropped a glob on you. Where did it go.....?"
Hey, watch it, your hands are cold! Stop groping my nether regions!
*sigh* "There's a big blob of it somewhere. Where is it......oh, there it is! Come here, Mommy's gotta wipe you down."
Put me down! I'll groom it off myself. I. WILL. GROOM. IT.OFF. MYSELF!
"Okay, here's some toilet paper..........stay still...........Fluffy, stay still!"
Sheeeeeeeeeeeesh! I can do this Mom, really!
"Oh, almost gone.......couple of more wipes......and.......yes! Got it! Well, most of it. You can groom the rest off, right?"
What have I been saying?
"Okay, I'll put you down. Oooooooo, I feel a big thump brewing in those back legs of yours!"
Oh, you got that right.........
"I'm gonna film it! Yeah! Want to show all your peeps how you thump at Mama? Yes you do! Yes you do! Let me get my phone, hang on!"
And thus we have this little video at the bottom......
Thanks to all of my friends who sent me good wishes. They mean a lot and really helped Mom to not worry so much. I've got great bunny buddies <3

Check Up
Here is Miss Binks and I in our carrier. I went back to the vet for a follow up. Seems I am favouring Critical Care a lot so Mom figured we needed to go for another check up. Miss Binks came along for the ride because hey, we like to be together and when we are not together, we get sad. Look at how pretty she is with her face in the sunlight. I'm behind her contemplating an escape.......
Dr. Marco gave me a check up and he thinks that it might be a good idea to get my teeth examined more closely. That means bringing me back and having me sedated so that a good, proper examination can be done, and if there are any spikes on my teeth, they can be filed down. Dr. Marco saw one that he thought might be bothering me but he thinks there may be more he can't see. Mom and Dad are not too pleased about having to bring me back and having me put under - I haven't been put under since I lost my "boys" 7 years ago - so they are a little nervous. Binky will come with me and she can stay with me in the cage while I recover. Mom is going to take the day off work so that she can be available to bring us home as soon as we are ready.
So that's the update on me. Don't worry my peeps, I am doing well. I am eating all my Critical Care and my salads and hopefully after a tooth trim I will be back to scarfing down some hay. My poops are good and my mood is as spirited as ever! And to prove it, see below for a video of me in my carrier, keeping my Stupid Blanket in line.....
Mom is a worrier. She says she will not be able to sleep until this procedure is over and I am back to normal. I keep telling her not to worry, but I think it would really help her if you all could send some good thoughts our way. I'm not a young bunny anymore and any type of procedure at my age is risky so Mom says the more good thoughts, the better!
I will post again after Thursday for an update on my teeth and to let you all know how I am doing. Thanks for all the support many of you have already sent my way - I really appreciate it!

Pellets, Poops and Critical Care
Hey, Peeps! I've gotta say, I have some of the sweetest bunny friends in the world! Mommy posted a video of me eating Critical Care and many of you emailed wondering what was wrong. No worries my friends, I'm doing okay!
Mom had noticed that I wasn't interested in eating all that much and she wasn't too sure about my pooping either (hard to tell when Binks and I share a litter bin). I wasn't interested in my treats much either, not even banana, so that's when Mom knew something was up. She gave me some Critical Care which I gobbled up, so Mom was thinking I might be having some dental issues, which is weird because I have NEVER had dental issues before in my life, so off to the vet we went.
The vet scoped my mouth but didn't find anything concerning. She said that my tummy was empty and not gassy at all so there was no blockage or stasis going on. It was recommended that I be separated so that Mom and Dad could properly monitor my food intake and poop output.
"What?! Separated from Binks?! Oh, I don't think so!"
"Fluffy, I'm sorry but that's what the vet said. We need to make sure that you are eating and pooping and we can't do that if you an Binks share everything. We don't want to do it, but we have to."
So up went the fencing and I was placed on one side, with Miss Binks on the other. I had my own litter bin, pellet and water bowl and evening salad. In the video you can see Binky on the other side of the fence, sitting in her house.
After two days of missing my girl, Mom and Dad saw that I was eating good and pooping okay enough to be back with Binky. My poops still aren't that great but Mom and Dad are just happy that I am indeed eating and eliminating. They will keep watching me to make sure I get better, not worse, and they will take me back to the vet if anything changes. "Fluffy, I missed you!" said Binks as we flopped out together under the coffee table. "I missed you too, Binks. I don't like not being able to snorgle with you whenever I want."
"Me either. Please make sure you eat and poop so Mom and Dad don't have to separate us again. Being away from you makes me lonely, and even though you were just on the other side of those bars, it's not the same as having you right by my side." she said as she gave me a good eyeball wash. Man, I love my girl.
All of this has made Mom kinda sad. I know she worries about us bunnies a LOT, especially since we are all getting up there in age. She laid down on the floor with me last night and her eyes were leaking. I hopped over to her face to bonk her and tell her I was okay. "Oh Fluffy, you're my Little Man. I makes me so sad to know that you aren't feeling well. I love you so much and I just want you to be happy and healthy." she said as she stroked my head. "I'll be okay Mom. It's just sometimes I don't feel like eating all that much, and my tummy wants to rest. I don't mean to make you worry."
"I know Little Man. But even though you are a Big Tough Lop, at only 2.9 pounds, you need to keep eating to stay strong. Mom can see that you are slowing down a bit, and that makes me sad. I just want to make sure you are comfortable and healthy and happy, my boy." She leaned in and planted a kiss on my head. "I promise to do my best to eat more Mom." I said as I gave her some licks. "Thanks my little McFluffersons."

Love, Kisses And Bunny Poop Hearts
Hey, WHOA! What's going on around here?! Geez, looks like Mom has decided to change the look of my blog again. Mom fancies herself as a wanna-be graphic artist and is more than mildly obsessed with fonts. I see she has tried some new ones - you know, the "fun" ones that always seem like such a great idea at the time but then you look back at them and say "Wow, that was lame....." She still hasn't gotten over the fact that Papyrus made it onto her wedding invitations, even though it took a backseat to a classier serif font. Personally, I think we need a carrot font....
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, Mom decided to take more video of Binky and I snorgling it up. As times change and we both get older, Miss Binks has been known to give me a good chase and nip if I run past her too fast. It's because she is blind, and she gets very apprehensive when she senses that something is going on around her that she is not aware of. Usually, she thinks that somehow, I have gotten a treat and she did not, which is NEVER the case. In fact, Mom and Dad make a point of giving Binky her treat first, and then I get mine. But once Binky chases and catches up to me, gives my snout a good sniff and realizes that she did in fact NOT miss a treat, all is well again with the world.
And when all is well, there is nothing we like more that canoodling. Mom filmed us, and remarked at how much we are like an old married couple. Bickering at times, but mostly knowing that our worlds would never be the same if we didn't have the other around. Sometimes we groom each other, hide our heads under the other, even smooch real kisses on the lips. And sometimes we just sit next to one another and daze, completely satisfied and at peace, feeling the warmth of our best friend beside us, knowing that everything is perfect.
Miss Binks and I have been together for almost 7 years. That's a pretty long time for bunnies. There is no other girl I'd rather snorgle with than my Miss Binks. And I am pretty darn sure she feels the same way. So for all my peeps out there, show some love this Valentine's Day. Snorgle a bunny friend, snorgle your human, let them pet you just a little bit longer and don't be so quick to bolt off their laps when they are smooching you and talking all goofy to you. Oh, and take your poops and arrange them into the shape of a heart - humans LOVE that!

Sorry to my peeps out there who couldn't see this video because Mom used a 1:20 clip of "Right Here Waiting" without asking Richard Marx for permission....THUMP. So here is the video without the unintended copyright infringement....just imagine the song playing.

Welcome 2012!
It's a new year and if you are a regular reader of my blog, you know that in January, us bunnies go for our yearly check up with Dr. Deb.
Here is a picture of Dr. Deb listening to my lungs. I've still got some healthy organs despite my age and that's good! Mom and Dad did express a little concern they have about me - I've been "slowing down" lately, whatever THAT means, and they wanted to make sure I was okay. I'm going to be 8 years old next month - so what if I need longer naps?! I'm still a Big Tough Lop! Just ask those Stupid Blankets.....
Dr. Deb thinks I may have a little arthritis so I am getting metacam twice a day now. I also lost some weight. I used to weigh 3.4 pounds and now I am down to 2.8 - not a lot, but for a bunny my size, it's considerable. We did some blood tests and everything came back completely normal - liver and kidneys are in great shape, YAY! Mom and Dad are always worried about that because I am EC positive. I think the metacam is making me feel better because last night I went out into the hall for a bunny misadventure and came ripping back into the room in full binky mode! See? I still got it....
Miss Binks got her check up too and she is a healthy girl. Actually, she gained a little weight so now our carrot ration has been cut in half and Mom and Dad are cutting down on the treats too! What a bunch of nonsense! *sigh* Well I guess they are only trying to do the right thing.
It was nice seeing Dr. Deb. She is always so kind and gentle with us. We wiggle a lot but she knows how to sweet talk us to get us to settle down, especially when she is sticking that scope in our ears and mouth. And I'd like to think we are her favourite bunnies too. We love Dr. Deb <3!
In case you're wondering, Christmas was pretty quiet. There was a somber mood with the recent passing of sweet little Brie. We got her ashes back just before Christmas and it was nice to have her home for the holidays. Mom and Dad miss her a lot but they know she had a really great life and it was just her time to go. It was a sad way to end the year...
And, well, I didn't exactly get all that stuff I posted about wanting a few blogs back. But we did get some great treats from the Bunspace and Rabbit Rescue stores. We got new Stupid Blankets I can't wait to sink my chompers into and we even got some Angry Bird rattle balls, and edible Christmas ornaments - YUM!
So all in all, the new year is off to a quiet start, but that's okay. Us senior rabbits like things quiet and mellow. There's been a bit of a cold snap lately but Miss Binks and I hunker down together and keep each other toasty warm. I would like to wish a very Hoppy New Year to all of my peeps. I hope you have a wonderful Holiday Season and I hope that 2012 brings you all many treats, snugly snorgles and lots of love and hoppiness!
